Remember Traveling? Yeah, me too. These days, on Instagram, all we have is throwbacks. Hashtags can take your #TBT posts and social media game to the next level though. You can use hashtags on practically every platform these days.. from Twitter to Instagram to Pinterest. But sometimes finding the right travel hashtag can be hard, so I wanted to share my favorites with you.
I always have a running list of hashtags on my iPhone that I want to use… can anyone else relate to that? I have used many of the ones listed below on my personal account (@carrie_vn) and business account (@boutiqueorbusted). And I’m hoping to use the rest of them when we can travel again. After you read all of the 45 unique travel hashtags, I also share with you how you can post hashtags discretely, so you’re not a Karen.

How To Hide Hashtags in Instagram
Now, we know that using a lot of hashtags can be tricky. They can be annoying AF and take up SO much space. Using a lot of them can also be distracting, but I use two strategies to make hashtags less annoying and less noticeable to my followers.
- Use hashtags as a separate comment entirely
- Or, use the 5 dots strategy – After you type in your caption, copy and paste these 5 dots at the end of your caption, and then type in all the hashtags you want to use. Example Below

#sundayfundae #visitmexico #travelmexico #traveldestinations #boutiquehotels
If you look at my Instagram post, all you see is my caption “New perspectives in 2020…” You only see my hashtags by tapping “more.” This is a great way to “hide” your hashtags.
Alright…
So now that you know how to hide hashtags in Instagram AND you have 45 new travel hashtags, feel free to use them in your posts!
If you have any fun, creative hashtags that you think I would love, please leave them in the comments below! Or DM me on Instagram at either @boutiqueorbusted or my personal account @carrie_vn.
